Our goal Is to be the largest FoodTech platform disrupting cafeterias across the globe.
HungerBox was started with a vision to revolutionize the corporate cafeterias and food courts. The vision soon transformed into solutions that enhanced user experience and brought in accountability and transparency in the Corporate F&B operations.
Since its inception in 2016, HungerBox has processed over 200 million transactions and now manages cafeterias at corporate offices and educational institutes and food courts at tech parks, malls & multiplexes.
HungerBox was founded by Sandipan Mitra and Uttam Kumar in 2016. They take pride in starting India’s first online food ordering platform and are undoubtedly pioneers in the FoodTech vertical with unparalleled domain expertise.

In a prolific career spanning more than 14 years, Sandipan has played an instrumental role at multiple organizations by leading, promoting and executing new ideas. He has an extensive track record of building new businesses from scratch. He is a pioneer of FoodTech space co-founding the country’s first online food ordering portal – Hungryzone.com in 2009. Hungryzone.com was later acquired by JustEat Inc. and then eventually by FoodPanda (Rocket Internet) in Dec 2014.
Uttam Kumar
Co-Founder & COO
With over a decade of experience in the F&B and financial service sectors, Uttam has spearheaded expansive operations and sales teams across the country. Prior to co-founding HungerBox, he served as the National Sales Head at JustEat (India) and FoodPanda. He has managed to build nimble and agile teams across multiple cities in India, tasked with a singular focus of achieving operational excellence.
With a great team and unmatched passion, we continue to march towards transforming cafeterias in India and across the world.
